FROM THE LAND

Corporate Center is a 360,000 square foot office building on a 40.8 acre parcel located in Sunrise, Florida.

The office building has 5 stories with a two story parking garage located adjacent to the building.  Additionally, a stabilized grassed and landscaped area to the east of the parking structure provides for any potential overflow parking.

This corporate organization is committed to being a positive presence in the community. As part of their study of workplace design and health, newly built projects must connect employees with their surroundings; and provide an open, transparent and intimate connection to the surrounding neighborhood and site.  The company recognizes that this approach to natural amenities helps to create an inspired project, which has the capacity to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.

The building is conceived as a dialogue with the natural landscape. The design merges the unique ecosystem of the site and climate with the ecosystem of the corporation.  The globally connected nature of the work performed in the office levels reaches out, metaphorically, and ‘pulls’ the landscape upwards from the earth.  These linkages, in turn, become site retaining walls, accessible walkways, and a tapes-try of planted berms which include a future edible garden; all which bring you into the main amenities level of the project.
Within the building, the concepts of biophilic and sustainable design continue.  The main level and office programs above are linked through 4 large atrium spaces which are enclosed at the top with a full story height of glazed roof monitors and linear skylight elements.  This allows sunlight to flood the very core of the office environments and insures that all regularly occupied spaces within the building receive daylighting.
